Say howdy to this daring adventurer. Richie lives life on the edge — really though. He’s a rock climber and photographer who likes to see the world from all different perspectives, which sometimes requires a lil bit of climbing.
As a member of the BIPOC community, Richie joins forces with other naturalists that share the same goal of making the outdoors more inclusive.
Stay tuned for Tommy Corey’s @allhumansoutside project, featuring Richie and other queer/BIPOC athletes doing their thing outdoors. The series of photos will be bound into a coffee table book that aims to inspire diversity, inclusion, and accessibility in the outdoors.

Photography, Videography, and playing music.
Do you find that these passions blend, merge, or complement your work?
They’re all storytelling in a way so they mix well.
Do you have any “heroes’ to speak of? How are you inspired?
I’m most inspired by David Choe’s authenticity. His openness with mental health and sporadic expression feels like a breath of fresh air.
A key ingredient to building a sustainable future?
Open-mindedness and Curiosity. New information is always coming out. I think reading the news and having some stem understanding can help people realize how much of an impact they have on the world.
A book that shaped your life?
Where the Wild Things Are by Maurice Sendak. It is an inspiring outlook on the world.
Favorite artist currently?
Jacob Collier is just as much a lyricist as he is a multi-instrumentalist. I find his language choices to be enchanting.
Most sublime moment in nature?
I raced canoes in Hawaii for my high school. During practice, I dove with whales and heard their clicks and whistles underwater.
What have been your biggest challenges?
Balancing my professional aspirations and personal aspirations.
What other brands do you love?
Patagonia, Lululemon, Prana. I really enjoy brands that support my lifestyle sustainably.
What keeps you going?
New plants and animals. I recently chased a drove of wild donkeys across the desert. Rock formations. Good food. Starry skies.
